About the appraisal system....

Hi All,

I am working with an IT co. which has around 110 employees, we follow a 6 monthly appraisal cycle.
Now, the management wants to make it an annual cycle.

Can some one please help me understand the reasons / parameters that a company should consider before changing its appraisal cycle to yearly?

Also, what should be the average hike on total payroll (as per the IT Industry standards) when we give appraisals every 6 months and once in an year?


I really look forward to some inputs from all Cite HR fellow members.
