Need Help/Advice to handle harassment Posted: 08 Jun 2010 11:24 AM PDT I have a peculiar problem. Yesterday, my daughter who is working in a well known Indian MNC told me that she is being harassed by one of her male colleague through indecent remarks and even suggesting some unwarranted remarks etc in spite of her protest. As she is usually very shy and do not bring any problem to me unless it is of grave nature, the issue is of serius nature. However, she is not sure whether any action will be taken against him if she complains to her HR, as the concerned HR person is perceived to be a weak administrator in these aspects by the employees. She is also worried about the repercussions she may have to suffer if she complains to the HR Manager. Me being on the verge of retirement, not sure about the action to be taken. Can anyone suggest what is to be done in such cases? |
