casual worker in AP public sector actory is eligible for Gratuity or not????????? Posted: 04 Jul 2010 09:14 AM PDT Dear Sir i know a woman who worked for 19 years continuosly in a public sector factory run by Andhra radesh govt , but she is not considered for regularization by the factory management. Recently she had reached age of superannuation i.e 58 years (in AP Retirement Age is 58 years). She requested the factory management to extend her services viewing her financial position , but the factory management had rejected the request showing the policy matters. The factory management is also saying that she is not eliglble for any retirement benefits like Gratuity(except PF) as she was an Casual worker though she worked continuosly for 19 years with out any break in the service. I request you to please tell me whether she is eligible for Gratuity as per the New Gratuity Law or not??? |

HR terms not found in the books Posted: 04 Jul 2010 08:36 AM PDT Hi Seniors.. :) I have recently started following the threads posted in CiteHR that talk about new/old terminologies & practices used/followed in corporates like "The Honeymoon Effect" under Training & Development and "The Bell Curve" under Performance Appraisal etc. I'd appreciate it deeply if you can just let me know more terms like these because it will really help me (and I'm sure there are many freshers and other fellow HR professionals who would find it extremely helpful to) expand the knowledge-base in the domain of HR. Thanks in advance, Cheers! Meghna |
