Question about transfer in lieu of retrenchment Posted: 08 Feb 2010 01:56 PM PST Hello. I have a unique question and would appreciate your answers: A company XYZ has two business locations: Tamil Nadu and Uttar Pradesh. Its office in UP has the same set-up as the office in TN. The management has recently decided to retrench workmen in one particular department in the UP office. In essence, this particular department is scheduled to be closed down. Now, as part of the retrenchment process should the management be offering employment to the affected workmen in its TN office? Alternately, should the management transfer these workmen to the TN office. What are the legal conditions that govern this situation? Your feedback will be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Ajay. |

Posted: 08 Feb 2010 09:27 AM PST Hi Friends, Could anyone help me in understanding the PF withdrawal more clearly?I went thru ur posts & got some idea.I don have any knowledge abt PF before & learning to knw by ur posts. Actually,I worked for a company for 1.4 yrs i.e frm 2008 to 2010Jan.My PF deduction was made only frm July2009 due to contract mode job.Only on Dec2009 I became core ee & so,my contribution frm july till Nov(5 months) was in one PF no. and for dec09 & Jan2010 it is another one. So,hw much amt will I get if suppose my contribution from July to Dec was 1100p.m and for Dec & Jan it is 500p.m Will there be tax deduction and above wt slab it is taxed? Finally,is it better for me to withdraw now or later coz I don have any idea of transferring PF.People say withdrawal later on will drag my time & it is highly time consuming & difficult to withdraw frm Govt. Please suggest Thanks in advance, Sachu |
