am i eligible for the post of AM-HR or Manager HR

Posted: 19 Feb 2010 06:30 PM PST

Hi all!

I need help from a learned HR,, I am an MBA (HR),, I hold more than 8 yrs of corporate experience in different fields (6 yrs in a hospital as Respiratory tech. where i handles admin as well and 18 months in a BPO),,, 1 year of HR experience as an HR executive,,, I would like to know that would my non-HR experience be counted when I go for an HR job or not?
I didn't think of this earlier until I went for this recent interviews,,, the VP-HR and other senior HRs are telling me that I am over qualified for the position of an executive and should apply for the post of Manager or AM- HR since I know how to work in the corporate sector,,, may be I am new to this role,, and my communication skills & subject knowledge is also quiet good...

What are your suggestions plzz and if yes, then what type of questions I might face and their answers hint as well would be highly appreciable.... Waiting for you reply and thanks in advance...

Dear Members
I have completed Bcom(2004) & Masters in Personnel Management(2006). Currently I am working into operations in UK based BPO since Feb 2009. I was working with a Swedish engineering company, with good name in market but had to leave as it was on contract and recession had already taken a toll by then, so completed 15 months there. I applied in few companies as opportunities where less but it dint work out as couple of them needed candidate with fluent Marathi and at other places where I got thru position went on hold. Now when Market is bit opened most of the companies turning off my candidature because my current profile is not HR. Very soon I am getting married and badly need a job in HR field in Pune. I would really apreciate if you can give me your valuable suggestion as my current job is complete night shift and off track making me feel pretty depressed.
Thanks
Kumari K

Dear All,

Thank you all for providing such a usefl information on SAP. It is really very helpful.

I have got over 5 years experience in HR - Recruitment & payroll. I want to do SAP HR module for support services.

Please advise me any good institute in Mumbai which provides training (other than Siemens or Genovate as I cannot afford their fees).

You can reach me on my email :

Thanks,

Vijay
